The highly anticipated open-world game has become the most pre-ordered title in PlayStation history.

PlayStation announced that "Horizon Dawn" has received over 10 million pre-orders since its announcement, making it the most pre-ordered PlayStation game in history and generating over $600 million in advance sales. The milestone comes three months before the game's planned fall release.

"The response from the gaming community has been unprecedented," said Guerrilla Games studio director Jan-Bart van Beek. "We are humbled by the enthusiasm and are working around the clock to deliver an experience that exceeds expectations."

The game is set in a post-apocalyptic world featuring a new protagonist and narrative, with gameplay that emphasizes exploration and combat against mechanical creatures. The development, reportedly budgeted at over $200 million, represents one of the most expensive games ever produced by a first-party studio.

"Horizon Dawn has become a cultural event that extends far beyond the gaming community," said Wedbush Securities analyst Michael Pachter. "The commercial potential is significant and could meaningfully impact Sony's financial results for years."

Retailers have reported that pre-order demand is comparable to the combined pre-orders of recent major console launches. GameStop CEO Matthew Gorman said the company has allocated significant inventory and expects lines at stores on release day.
